Psp Battery Dies Fast. if your battery is dead, the device will run fine off the power adapter, but will turn off when unplugged. fast flashing indicates a poor connection between the battery and charger or a problem with the battery pack. i've tried looking for more specific answers but keep finding older threads (like years ago), but i bought a new battery for each of my 3000's and its life isn't. The real batteries have large green circuit boards, the fake ones have. you can only know for sure by opening the battery pack up. The battery may not accept a charge, the device may. it doesn't matter if you're in sleep mode or completely turned off. As long as the battery pack is in its slot in the psp, it will be. the psp battery seems to lose its charge pretty quickly when not in use, at least compared to the ds. both behave the same way, if i charge it fully and turn the system completely off (not sleep) and come back to it two months.
